FOX TROLLING FLIES
An Arctic Fox Trolling Fly with Action Disc

Trolling Flies take most freshwater and saltwater species. We've developed several trolling fly designs using new materials and added the unique Action Disc to improve the movement in water. As a result we now offer several patterns and an Action Disc with each Arctic Fox Trolling Fly purchase.
Black
Leech #2 - Black/Black/Black over a Peacock/Black crystal chenille body. A
good color choice for stained or off colored water. Dark day/dark fly is an old adage that
still holds true. Black gives the best contrast in low light conditions. The body has a
hint of peacock in the black crystal chenille.
Olive Leech #2 - Olive/Olive/Olive over
Olive body. Most prey is camouflaged to blend with its surroundings and olive is the
dominant color in most food-rich aquatic environments
Tui Chub - #2 -
Olive/Olive/White over Pearl. This is based on the Tui Chub that inhabits the Eastern
Cascades and Eastern Sierras out into the Great Basin. It also is a good imitation of the
counter shading of bait fish in many waters.
Lahontan Redside Minnow - #2 - Olive/Burnt
Umber/White over Pearl. This pattern is based on the Redside Minnow of the Eastern Sierras
but the dark lateral band is similar to many dace patterns. This fly has a red flash over
the pearl body.
Shad
- #2 Grey/White/White over Pearl. (New) In large, deep
water lakes and reservoirs the predominant bait fish tend to be flashy white to make them
difficult to silhouette from below. This pattern has flash to draw attention and the
coloration typical of many shad and smelt species.
Orange - #2 -Oange/Orange/Orange over Orange. This
color scheme has gained wide acceptance in the west as a fall/winter color for Brown
Trout. There are a number of theories as to why this color works. Some waters have bait
fish that take on a reddish-orange cast in the fall. Other theories relate the color to
crawdads, daphnia blooms or contrast that makes this color more noticeable in stained
